Christmas Special 2017 &#8211; HuffPost Verdict"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>&#8216;Great British Bake Off&#8217; Christmas Special 2017 &#8211; HuffPost Verdict<\/b><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a3a4da6150000490049cac2.jpeg\" data-caption=\"\" alt=\"\" data-credit=\"Channel 4\" data-portal-copyright=\"Channel 4\" data-provider=\"Other\" data-provider-asset-id=\"205968840\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<h4><em>K E Y \u00a0\u00a0P O I N T S<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a1696fe1500005b3d859926.png\" data-caption=\"\" alt=\"\" data-credit=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" data-provider=\"I Shot This\" data-provider-asset-id=\"205888401\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Selasi Gbormittah (series seven), Val Stones (series seven), Paul Jagger (series six) and Beca Lyne-Pirkis\u00a0(series four) all returned to the tent<\/li>\n<li>They were set a signature challenge of baking a Christmas yule log, a technical challenge of baking 12 identical lattice mince pies and for the showstopper, a snow globe cake<\/li>\n<li>Paul emerged the winner after topping the technical challenge and making adorable penguins for his snow globe cakes<\/li>\n<li>Paul Hollywood told him he had \u201ctaken his baking to a whole new level since leaving the tent\u201d, while Noel Fielding called him the \u201cAttenborough of the baking world\u201d given his previous success with his bread lion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><em>S N A P \u00a0\u00a0V E R D I C T<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a1696fe1500005b3d859926.png\" data-caption=\"\" alt=\"\" data-credit=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" data-provider=\"I Shot This\" data-provider-asset-id=\"205888401\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The \u2018Bake Off\u2019 Christmas special had all the right ingredients for the perfect festive treat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Not only were fan favourites Selasi and Val back in the tent, but they served up some extra cheekiness as Paul and Prue put them through their paces.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But just because it was Christmas, it didn\u2019t mean the judges were going to go lightly on the bakers, with Paul setting what he called \u201cone of the hardest Christmas challenges\u201d with the snow globe technical.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It provided some classic \u2018Bake Off\u2019 innuendo and edge-of-your-seat tension, as they moulded globes out of molten sugar substitutes &#8211; something which proved extra difficult watch after a lot a sherries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The last 10 minutes of the episode saw producers really up the festivities though, as although the contestants were only competing to be crowned Christmas Star Baker, they went all out to create a winter wonderland for the announcement, complete with fake snow, a festive choir and Wizzard.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>How warm and fuzzy we felt inside (although those aforementioned sherries probably contributed to that).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spare a thought for them all though, as the episode was most likely filmed back in the summer, meaning they were probably more roasting than your Christmas turkey in all of that festive knitwear.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4><em>B E S T \u00a0\u00a0L I N E S<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a1696fe1500005b3d859926.png\" data-caption=\"\" alt=\"\" data-credit=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" data-provider=\"I Shot This\" data-provider-asset-id=\"205888401\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span><strong>Paul Hollywood to Selasi on his Yule log stump:<\/strong> \u201cHow big is your stump?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Sandi:<\/strong> \u201cThat\u2019s not really a question you should ask people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Paul to Prue, Sandi and Val while twostepping:<\/strong> \u201cIt looks like a girlband from the 50s.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Paul to Becca on her showstopper:\u00a0<\/strong><span>\u201cOverall, I think your globes are stunning.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Val on her signature bake:<\/strong>\u00a0<span>\u201cIt\u2019s a rough, old log, just like me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4><em>O U R\u00a0 \u00a0C H R I S T M A S\u00a0 \u00a0S T A R<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a1696fe1500005b3d859926.png\" data-caption=\"\" alt=\"\" data-credit=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" data-provider=\"I Shot This\" data-provider-asset-id=\"205888401\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<p>While Paul may have been crowned Star Baker, we all know the show belonged to one <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/?mp_code=akftr\">woman<\/a> and one <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/?mp_code=akftr\">woman<\/a> only &#8211;
