Yesterday was a day of praise for Donald Trump, at least from sycophantic Republicans eager to curry favor following the tax bill\u2019s passage. Seth Meyers took a Closer Look last night.<\/p>\n

But first Meyers examined Trump\u2019s latest shot at the press in front of his cabinet, telling them they \u201cneed a prayer\u201d more than he does.<\/p>\n

Said Meyers: \u201cAhh yes, prayer. What a cool thing to be a dick<\/a> about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meyers then moved on to the tax bill, astonished that Trump actually thinks he came up with the term \u2018tax cuts\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my God! Do you really think you came up with the phrase, \u2018tax cuts?\u2019 Those are literally the two most popular words in the history of politics!\u2026That\u2019s right, Trump claims he invented the phrase, \u2018tax cuts.\u2019 That is so fake, the only thing that would be more fake is claiming you came up with the word \u2018fake\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meyers then played a clip of Trump claiming he came up with the word \u201cfake\u201d.<\/p>\n

And Trump claimed he\u2019s done more than any other president in history, to which Meyers responded: \u201cYou passed one bill. And people are so enthusiastic about you that Alabama elected a Democratic senator.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Pence also got on the Trump congratulation bandwagon, lavishing praise on him to his face for nearly three minutes. Meyers played the clip which ended on Trump\u2019s scowling puss.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I guess we know what Trump\u2019s \u2018O-face\u2019 looks like,\u201d Meyers quipped. \u201cLook at him. Even he\u2019s like, \u2018dude, I\u2019m married.’\u201d<\/p>\n
