‘Emmerdale’ Christmas Spoilers 2017: Robron Special Plan Revealed<\/b>
\n\u2018Emmerdale\u2019 fans have been given an early Christmas present, in the form of details about what to expect from this year\u2019s festive special.<\/p>\n

The episode was previously teased by soap boss Iain MacLeod back in September, but the full plans have now been unveiled – and Robron fans won\u2019t be dissapointed.<\/p>\n

In a move away from traditional storytelling, the Christmas Day episode will be a standalone one, with a storyline that Iain describes teases as\u00a0\u201d\u2018Groundhog Day\u2019 meets \u2018A Christmas Carol\u2019 with a little nod to the film \u2018Don\u2019t Look Now\u2019 thrown in\u201d.<\/p>\n

The show will see Robert Sugden wake up multiple times on Christmas morning, facing a different reality each time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy can\u2019t he escape from this perpetual nightmare?\u201d bosses have teased. \u201cAnd how will his estrangement from the real love of his life, Aaron, played by Danny Miller, manifest itself?\u201d<\/p>\n

Explaining the reasoning behind the plans, Iain said: \u201cIt\u2019s been amazing to produce as we\u2019re constantly thinking of ways to push the boundaries of storytelling and keep \u2018Emmerdale\u2019 fresh and our loyal viewers on their toes.<\/p>\n

\u201cApart from the scary aspect to Robert\u2019s situation, the episode is also heartfelt and hilarious in parts,\u201d Iain continued. \u201cChristmas wouldn\u2019t be the same without a healthy dose of the Dingles and a comedy cameo which we hope will please our viewers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWatch out for the ghost of Christmas Future as you might recognise them!\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in Soapland, \u2018EastEnders\u2019 have big plans for the festive season with Max Branning taking centre stage as his world comes crashing down around him.<\/p>\n

In \u2018Coronation Street\u2019, the residents of Weatherfield will welcome back a much-loved familiar face.<\/p>\n
