Nancy Pelosi Defends Rep. John Conyers in the Wake of Sexual Harassment Allegations: WATCH<\/b>

Nancy called Rep. John Conyers an \u201cicon\u201d and said that he deserves \u201cdue process\u201d in the face of sexual harassment allegations against him by multiple women<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"Said Pelosi: \u201cHe has done a great deal to protect women<\/a>.\u00a0Violence Against Women Act, which the left \u2013 right-wing \u2013 is now quoting me as praising him for his work on that, and he did great work on that \u2026 I believe he understands what\u2019s at stake here, and he will do the right thing.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Conyers\u00a0last week acknowledged\u00a0<\/a>that he settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015, but denied the sexual harassment accusations made against him by a former female<\/a> aide.<\/p>\n

The House Ethics Committee said last week that it has opened a probe into the allegations against Conyers, which include accusations of unwanted sexual advances.<\/p>\n

Pelosi in the interview on Sunday called for an end to non-disclosure agreements that prevent sexual misconduct accusations from coming to light.<\/p>\n

The most absurd part of Pelosi\u2019s statement is \u201cI believe he understands what is at stake here and he will do the right thing.\u201d It\u2019s not up to Conyers to decide what\u2019s right. Also, he\u2019s widely reputed to be losing his mental faculties. t.co\/tVkgJSH64V<\/a><\/p>\n
