‘Strictly Come Dancing’: Davood Ghadami Rubbishes Claims Suggestive Judges’ Comments Are Sexual Harassment<\/b>
\n\u2018Strictly Come Dancing\u2019 star Davood Ghadami has rubbished claims some of the judges\u2019 comments directed at him are akin to sexual harassment.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, HuffPost UK blogger Jay McCarthy penned a post\u00a0suggesting some things the panel said to him following his Paso Doble last week were \u201cunacceptable\u201d.<\/p>\n

After Bruno Tonioli made reference to his sheer shirt that showed off his toned physique,\u00a0Jay claimed that if similar comments were made to a woman<\/a> it would equate to harassment and called for more equality on the matter.<\/p>\n

However, Davood has admitted he was not bothered about the comments, choosing to take them as a compliment.<\/p>\n

Speaking to HuffPost UK, he said: \u201cFor me, if I\u2019m going to go out there and do a Paso and show myself a little bit, then I may expect that to be part of the performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI certainly don\u2019t take it as any kind of harassment or take it personally, unless someone was to say, \u2018You shouldn\u2019t be doing that,\u2019 or \u2018You should be doing that more\u2019, then I think it would be an issue because it would cloud their judgement. As long as it isn\u2019t clouding anyone\u2019s judgement then I don\u2019t mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I have to take it as a compliment and a nice thing that they\u2019ve seen that, especially with a Paso, which is a strong dance, it\u2019s important to show certain aspects of strength.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Paso used to be that they would show even more than that, so I was actually covered more. It was nice that it was noticed and I didn\u2019t ask for anything extra, so I took it as a genuine compliment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davood – best known as \u2018EastEnders\u2019 market trader Kush Kazemi – also addressed some other controversial comments Bruno made to him and parter Nadia Bychkova earlier in the series.<\/p>\n

Bruno came in for criticism from professional dancer Brendan Cole when he said Davood and Nadiya\u2019s jive was \u201ca race to the bedroom\u201d – a remark Brendan claimed was disrespectful to both their real-life partners.<\/p>\n

And while Brendan clearly had a problem with it, Davood didn\u2019t seem to, admitting he \u201cenjoys\u201d Bruno\u2019s eccentricity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI certainly didn\u2019t take any offence to anything he said,\u201d Davood told us. \u201cHe was talking about the performance, which was based around two geeks meeting in a library and falling for each other, and that is what we went with.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn one sense, he wasn\u2019t far wrong in his commentary of that and our story, so that wasn\u2019t a problem for us.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cVery often when you\u2019re up there, you can\u2019t hear what they\u2019re saying anyway. It was only after I heard it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is lovely about it here is that we all have each other\u2019s backs and there\u2019s lots of camaraderie here. So I\u2019m sure if Brendan felt a certain way, it\u2019s good that he raised it, but I think it\u2019s about how you read it. I don\u2019t think he meant it in a personal way. \u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI guess I\u2019m lucky that if it was misunderstood, my family would know and my kids are very young so they wouldn\u2019t understand what that meant. I think Bruno\u2019s got to carry on doing what he\u2019s doing, if I\u2019m honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davood has become one of the dark horses of this year\u2019s competition, rising through the ranks over the last few weeks, and now admits to considering trading in his role in \u2018EastEnders\u2019 for something more theatrical.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy at \u2018EastEnders\u2019 at the moment, but I certainly do enjoy, and have missed, that feeling of being on stage in front of a live<\/a> audience,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s one of the lovely things you get to do on \u2018Strictly\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoing it as a dancer is obviously not something I expected, but it does bring something out in you. There\u2019s a few moments in this show where you realise, \u2018Ah, I love doing this\u2019, and there\u2019s a real warmth in that studio and performing, but we\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very much wrapped up in this bubble at the moment, but you never know what\u2019s coming,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
