Donald Trump delivered a Thanksgiving message to troops on Thursday that was seen as \u201csomewhat insulting\u201d by at least one military analyst.<\/p>\n

Mediaite reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

In the call<\/a>, made from Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago resort, the president dinged the previous administration for its efforts combatting ISIS, claiming that the U.S. is now \u201cwinning\u201d against the terror group \u201cbecause I\u2019m letting you do your job.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been winning,\u201d Hertling contented on CNN. \u201cYou\u2019re talking to soldiers and military personnel around the world who have been in this fight for 17 years and to suddenly be told they\u2019re winning now when they weren\u2019t winning before is somewhat insulting, first of all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also boasted of the strong U.S. economy in his call<\/a> to the deployed troops.<\/p>\n

On that, Hertling said \u201cthe comments about the economy and where the economy is growing \u2014 deployed service members don\u2019t want to hear about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also visited a Coast Guard station telling them that their \u201cbrand went up\u201d because of their response to Hurricane Harvey, The Hill reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an honor to be here, I have to tell you. You know, the Coast Guard, always respected, but if you were looking at it as a brand, there\u2019s no brand that went up more than the Coast Guard, with what happened in Texas,\u201d Trump told service members during a visit to the Coast Guard\u2019s Lake Work Inlet Station\u00a0in Florida\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026Trump then noted the branch\u2019s work in assisting after Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, which damaged Florida and Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that there is no brand \u2014 of any kind, I\u2019m not just talking about a military branch \u2014 that has gone up more than the Coast Guard,\u201d Trump\u00a0said.<\/p>\n

And he was busy on Twitter as well. Trump delivered a Thanksgiving message to the nation, claiming \u201cthe enthusiasm in this country has never been higher.\u201d<\/p>\n
