The Victoria\u2019s Secret Show<\/a> has come under fire<\/a> for only featuring slim able-bodied models.<\/span><\/p>\n

To prove that all bodies <\/a>– whatever their size, shape or ability – are catwalk worthy, and to show the world-famous lingerie<\/a> brand that they\u2019re seriously missing a trick, two sisters created their very own Anti-Victoria\u2019 Secret Fashion Show.<\/p>\n

Alyse and Alexis Scaffidi were tired of seeing a narrow definition of beauty reflected on the catwalk.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year you watch the Victoria Secret Fashion Show and <\/span>you start to look at the models and compare that to yourself and you start to think I\u2019ll never look like that,\u201d said Alyse.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo we decided to put our money where our mouth was and create an anti-VS Body Confident fashion show that proves every shape, size, age and skin colour is deserving of being an angel.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reactionary lingerie show involved women<\/a> with a range of body shapes, abilities, heights, races and general styles as an antidote to models who all fit into sample sizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Scaffidi sisters explained: \u201c<\/span>When we were watching the VS Fashion Show last year, we realised the models weren\u2019t sending the right message to women<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYoung girls<\/a> need to stop seeing the same, stereotypical shape in magazines, movies, and on social media. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey need to stop being shown that only one body type can be beautiful, successful and happy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The sisters filmed the show\u00a0<\/span>with the help of producer and director Domenick Cucinotta<\/a>, as they wanted it to reach a wide audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis video<\/a> teaches young women<\/a> that they don\u2019t have to look a certain, unrealistic way to feel beautiful,\u201d said Alyse.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBeauty is about being confident and proud of who you are as a person. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope it will start conversations amongst girls<\/a> about positive body image, self-acceptance and how to embrace your own individuality.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The founders of the Anti-Victoria Secret Fashion show now hope to make this an annual event – like the show that inspired it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur ultimate goal is to start a non-profit that enables young women<\/a> from all over the world to make their dreams of becoming a VS runway angel come true,\u201d said Alyse.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, our show would have one twist, in that it wouldn\u2019t select models based on looks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, the interview process would revolve around what challenges you\u2019ve overcome, your creativity, your story and your uniqueness.<\/span><\/p>\n
