Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son&#8230; we ask the press and public to allow us privacy during this very difficult time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a13cee8150000460085929a.jpeg?cache=X649cFxGxM\" data-caption=\"Paul and Alexandra Hollywood\" alt=\"Paul and Alexandra Hollywood\" data-credit=\"Doug Peters\/EMPICS Entertainment\" data-portal-copyright=\"Doug Peters\/EMPICS Entertainment\" data-provider=\"pressassociation\" data-provider-asset-id=\"2.22009612\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<p><span>The <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a> previously split in 2013 when he admitted having an affair with Marcela Valladolid, his co-presenter on the US version of \u2018Bake Off\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He later described it as \u201cthe biggest mistake of my life\u201d during an interview with BBC Radio Five Live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He said: \u00a0\u201cI did have an affair in America with my co-judge and it was the biggest mistake of my life because actually I still love my wife.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are talking, we are working to get back together again but it\u2019s going to take time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was shocked about the whole thing kicking off the way it did&#8230; but I deserved it and I\u2019ve taken it. It was my punishment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a>, who met in Cyprus in 1996, got back together just months after the news of the affair made headlines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Two years later Paul revealed they were in \u201ca very good place\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.huffingtonpost.com\/asset\/5a13cf56140000891d50e8cc.jpeg\" data-caption=\"\" alt=\"\" data-credit=\"PA Archive\/PA Images\" data-portal-copyright=\"PA Archive\/PA Images\" data-provider=\"pressassociation\" data-provider-asset-id=\"2.33531628\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"false\"><\/p>\n<p><span>He said: \u201cWe went through a very difficult time but we\u2019re on top right now &#8230; There was no let-up but now I feel we\u2019re in a very good place. I think this is the happiest we\u2019ve ever been. Our love of food is the key to it all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe love going out and have done that a lot this year. We\u2019re away for Valentine\u2019s Day. That was my idea. I can be a romantic. The way to every <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/?mp_code=akftr\">woman<\/a>\u2019s heart is through her stomach. Food is at the core of everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Alex added: \u201cYou\u2019ve just got to get on with life, haven\u2019t you? I\u2019m an eternal optimist, he\u2019s an optimist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe\u2019re having a good time. The most romantic thing he did was bake chocolate croissants on a Sunday morning.
