More details are emerging about Wes Goodman, the Christian \u201cfamily values\/natural marriage\u201d GOP Ohio State Rep. who resigned this week after being caught having a sexual encounter with a man in his office<\/a>.<\/p>\n Two former GOP congressional staffers offended by Goodman\u2019s hypocrisy came forward with stories about the lawmaker to Cleveland.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n Johnny Hadlock, then a staffer for another GOP congressman in Washington, said he met Goodman in 2010. Hadlock said he confided in Goodman that he was a closeted gay<\/a> man<\/a> and the two\u00a0began exchanging text messages.<\/p>\n In an interview with cleveland.com<\/a>, Hadlock described the messages as sexting and gay<\/a> banter, and said he engaged in phone sex<\/a> with Goodman.<\/p>\n Hadlock said that Goodman would engage him when his wife was out of town or sleeping but that it wasn\u2019t harassment: \u201cwe both knew what we were doing and we were both fine doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n But another \u201cconservative with Ohio ties\u201d told the paper that Goodman did engage in harassment as well:<\/p>\n \u201cThe conservative operative said he\u2019d target college kids who wanted to have him as a mentor and were scared to report his sexual advances because they didn\u2019t want to damage their own careers. A former co-worker shared screenshots of messages Goodman sent him that the operative likened to the lewd texts that derailed the congressional career of New York\u2019s Anthony Weiner.\u201d<\/p>\n Yet another GOP staffer described Goodman\u2019s habits on Craigslist<\/a>:<\/p>\n Another former GOP congressional\u00a0staffer, Chris Donnelly, told cleveland.com<\/a> that Goodman\u00a0replied to a Craigslist post on a board for men<\/a> seeking men<\/a>, and the two had a sexual encounter in 2008.\u00a0In a response shown to cleveland.com<\/a>, an email account using the name Brady Murphey described himself as a \u201cstraight\/curious\u201d guy<\/a> who needed to be discreet\u2026<\/p>\n \u2026Donnelly said Goodman was \u201call over Craigslist\u201d and responded to several ads posted by Donnelly and\u00a0other gay<\/a> men<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt became a running joke between me and my gay<\/a> friends\u00a0on Capitol\u00a0Hill,\u201d Donnelly said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s not like it was some one-off thing.\u201d<\/p>\n On Friday, the Washington Post<\/em> published a report that Goodman was cut off from the\u00a0the conservative Council for National Policy by its president, the virulently anti-LGBT hate group leader Tony Perkins<\/a>, after an incident in which Goodman, then a rising conservative candidate for local office, sexually assaulted an 18-year-old at a Ritz Carlton hotel in D.C. during one of the group\u2019s functions:<\/p>\n Hours later, upstairs in a hotel guest room, an 18-year-old college student who had come to the event with his parents said the candidate unzipped his pants and fondled him in the middle of the night.
