Dacre Montgomery, who plays aggressive and brash Billy Hargrove on season two of the sci-fi drama\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em>, shared his audition tape for the show with GQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n The rumored \u201cinsane\u201d audition tape has generated a lot of online chatter and Montgomery says the Duffer Brothers said \u201cit caused a bit of a stir at Netflix\u201d when it was played at a big board meeting.<\/p>\n In any case, the tape worked and it captured their attention.<\/p>\n Montgomery reportedly got in a G-string and danced around for part of the tape (that part is unfortunately not included):<\/p>\n \u201cI think Billy\u2019s kind of unpredictable nature, it\u2019s not like me. It\u2019s obviously not like me to get in a G-string and do that, so I was like, what\u00a0wouldn\u2019t<\/em>\u00a0Dacre do? And when I heard the music, I was like, well, whatever. YOLO [laughs]<\/em>. Because I think that\u2019s Billy in every way. I get so self-conscious, so it was a nice reprieve from that, to be able to do that at home, during the day, while none of my family was home, and just go for it, to just have that moment of freedom, and be able to show them that I can have that uninhibited freedom. And I was like, Okay, what better way to do that than to oil myself up, put on a G-string, and\u2026 yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Montgomery recently addressed fan theories that his character Billy is gay<\/a> because of his hostile attitude toward Steve Harrington (Joe Keery).<\/p>\n The Huffington Post reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n Montgomery reiterated that Billy\u2019s aggression in the face of other male<\/a> characters doesn\u2019t stem from racism or homophobia.<\/p>\n \u201cLucas,\u00a0unfortunately, is a target.\u00a0I think\u00a0\u2026 he becomes a target, and I don\u2019t think it\u2019s about race. Just like I don\u2019t think Steve \u2014 somebody touched on that the other day. \u2018Now is Billy attracted to Steve?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018No, I don\u2019t think he is.\u2019 I don\u2019t think it\u2019s like this confused, homoerotic kind of thing.
