Republican Senator Jeff Flake Takes Astonishing Stand Against Donald Trump In Scathing Resignation Speech<\/b><\/p>\n

Another Republican Senator has stepped forward to condemn Donald Trump, labelling the US President \u201cdangerous to democracy\u201d in a blistering take-down.<\/p>\n

In a withering attack from the floor of the Senate, Jeff Flake said it was\u00a0\u201ctime for our complicity and accommodation to the unacceptable to end\u201d and said Republicans would not \u201cmeekly accept such behaviour\u201d if a Democrat was in the White House.<\/p>\n

His tirade came hours after he joined fellow Republican Bob Corker in announcing he would not stand for office next year. Corker, too, unleashed a stinging rebuke earlier in the day –\u00a0accusing\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0of \u201cdebasing\u201d the US.<\/p>\n

Flake, who has criticised the path that the Republican Party has taken under Trump, told The Arizona Republic in advance of his announcement that \u201cthere may not be a place for a Republican like me\u201d in the current GOP.<\/p>\n

Corker, the US Senator who branded the White House an \u201cadult daycare centre<\/a>\u201d, added today that the President has \u201cgreat difficulty with the truth\u201d and is \u201cpurposely breaking down relationships we have around the world that had been useful to our nation\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing. Unfortunately world leaders are very aware that much of what he says is untrue,\u201d Corker continued. \u201cCertainly people here are because these things are provably untrue. They\u2019re just factually incorrect and people know the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
