GLAAD today released a video<\/a> featuring some of the most well-known\u00a0Australian celebrities encouraging Aussies to vote\u00a0‘Yes’ in the country’s marriage equality survey.\u00a0Australia is in the final weeks of its national postal survey and\u00a0some\u00a0leading stars of film and television are joining\u00a0together with GLAAD to encourage all Australians to “Vote Yes!” in this pivotal moment for\u00a0LGBTQ equality. While non-binding and voluntary, should the majority vote ‘Yes,’ Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has said that he would introduce pro-marriage equality\u00a0legislation to a free vote in Parliament. Polls have shown that 63% of Australians support marriage equality.<\/p>\n

Yvonne\u00a0Strahovski said, “As I\u2019m sure you\u2019re all well aware by now, Australians are currently deciding on the right of gay<\/a> and\u00a0lesbian<\/a> couples<\/a> to marry. Everybody has the right to love, and everyone has the right to choose who they love”<\/p>\n

From Luke Hemsworth, “Don\u2019t miss out on the chance to have your voice heard in this historic moment in Australian history\u2026 Vote yes!”<\/p>\n

Hugh Sheridan added, “But what you might not know is that the current results indicate that the response is too close to call<\/a>. So, let\u2019s get Australia on the right side of history\u2026 post your ballot. Post. Your. Ballot.”<\/p>\n
