Australian Senator Cory Bernardi has launched a robocall to one million homes in Australia, warning voters of the danger that gay<\/a> marriage poses to children and families.<\/p>\n The Guardian<\/em> reports:<\/a><\/p>\n The Equality Campaign\u2019s executive director, Tiernan Brady, said it had \u201cno complaint\u201d that opponents of marriage equality were campaigning but the robocall was the latest example of a \u201cdaily campaign of red herrings and misdirection\u201d that had nothing to do with marriage.<\/p>\n In the call<\/a> Bernardi identifies himself and says: \u201cAs a parent I am deeply concerned about how changing the Marriage Act will affect families and children.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cUltimately this is a question about parents\u2019 rights,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n \u201cChanging the Marriage Act will limit the right of parents to object to radical gay<\/a> sex<\/a> education and gender ideology programs from being taught in schools.<\/p>\n \u201cBooks like The Gender Fairy, which is aimed at four-year-olds, will become commonplace in our schools.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re going to see more programs like the controversial and misnamed [anti-bullying] Safe Schools program that teaches kids their gender is fluid and not based on biology.\u201d<\/p>\n Brady told Guardian Australia \u201cthe campaigners against marriage equality are perfectly entitled to campaign. Our complaint has always been they won\u2019t campaign on the issue of marriage equality because they know the Australian people are for it.
