A musical about the life and career of Cher will\u00a0have its Broadway debut in 2018, producers announced on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

EW reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Cher Musical<\/em>\u00a0will have an out-of-town tryout in Chicago beginning in June 2018 before transferring to the Neil Simon Theatre in New York in the fall.<\/p>\n

The biographical musical will feature Cher\u2019s chart-topping hits, and will follow the life of the singer, actress, and icon.<\/p>\n

The Cher Show\u00a0<\/em>will feature a book by\u00a0Rick Elice\u00a0(Jersey Boys<\/em>), direction by\u00a0Jason Moore\u00a0(Avenue Q<\/em>),\u00a0choreography by Christopher Gattelli\u00a0(a Tony winner for\u00a0Newsies<\/em>), and orchestrations, arrangements, and musical supervision by Daryl Waters\u00a0(a Tony winner for\u00a0Memphis<\/em>). Producers on the project are Flody Suarez (What\u2019s New Pussycat<\/em>) and four-time Tony winner Jeffrey Seller (Hamilton<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Cher had talked about the musical back in June<\/a>, but an official announcement was not made until today.<\/p>\n
