<\/a><\/p>\nAn off-duty West Virginia<\/a> deputy announced \u201cfaggots burn in hell\u201d when a gay<\/a> high school student boarded the bus he was driving.<\/span><\/p>\n Clay County sheriff\u2019s deputy Robert Belt allegedly made the comments on September 5th over the bus intercom, according to a <\/span>Facebook post<\/b><\/a> by the Nelson County (West Virginia) Democratic Organization.<\/span><\/p>\n This is Clay County Sheriff’s deputy Robert Belt. He is a self-serving jackass who plays god on a school bus -\u2026 t.co\/zWBrlFyjnk<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Alan Reeser (@AlanReeser) September 13, 2017<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n According to witnesses, Belt said: <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNo faggot activity will be permitted on this bus. In my Bible it states that \u2018faggots will burn in hell,\u2019 and I will not condone it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n A concerned parent who heard the comments reported Belt to the school principal who then notified the director of transportation.<\/span><\/p>\n Clay County sheriff\u2019s deputy Robert Belt, there is a special place in hell for people like you. God speed on your journey there Mr. Belt \u2014 Tammie C. Joe Paxton, superintendent of Clay County schools, said:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAll of our employees are expected to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment for all of our students.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs the Employee Code of Conduct mandates, the school system expects all of our employees to exhibit professional behavior by showing positive examples of communication, fairness, and language. Also, as required in the Code of Conduct, the school system expects all of our employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment, free from harassment, intimidation, bullying, and free from bias and discrimination.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Belt was named in a civil rights case eight years ago. <\/span>Raw Story<\/b><\/a> reports:<\/span><\/p>\n A Clay County man<\/a> accused Belt of engaging in a harassment campaign after he asked the deputy to remove his boots when he came to pick up some items belonging to a mutual relative.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c\u2018F*ck you and your white carpet,\u2019\u201d Belt told the man<\/a>, according to the federal civil rights suit.<\/span><\/p>\n The suit claims Belt then beat the man<\/a> with a flashlight, and he says the deputy unlawfully stopped him multiple times and physically assaulted him over a period of months.<\/span><\/p>\n Belt continues to drive a school bus part-time while working full-time as a deputy.
