<\/a><\/p>\nA gay<\/a> couple<\/a> dining at the D.C. restaurant The Prime Rib<\/a> were shocked when a waiter told them they couldn\u2019t share a dessert from the same bowl, the Washington Post<\/em> reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n Ron Gage, 55, and his partner, Henry McKinnon, 58, didn\u2019t see it coming. They were properly attired in blazers, which the restaurant requires, for their 8:30 reservation. They had been joking around with their server Thursday evening, in what Gage said had been a nice evening until dessert.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen it came time for dessert, we asked for one sundae with two spoons,\u201d Gage said. Their server \u201csaid he would bring it in two separate dishes. He said \u2018It wouldn\u2019t look right with two gentlemen eating out of the same sundae. It doesn\u2019t go with the ambiance of the restaurant.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n The couple<\/a> said the incident took them back to a \u201cshameful place\u201d and the restaurant said it was investigating, placing some blame on the waiter\u2019s Bulgarian nationality, saying English isn\u2019t is first language, adding,\u00a0\u201cT<\/span>here\u2019s no way we would condone anything remotely like this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Gage and McKinnon don\u2019t intend to return.<\/p>\n The post Upscale D.C.
