Organist Says Fear of Trump Future Made Him Paint Nazi, Anti-Gay Graffiti on Church. His Fears Have Been Realized.<\/b><\/p>\n

The former organist at St. David\u2019s Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom Indiana revealed that fear and depression about Trump\u2019s election led him to graffiti a swastika, an anti-gay<\/a> slur and the words \u201cHeil Trump\u201d on the walls of his former church last November, the Associated Press reported<\/a> Monday.<\/p>\n

Bloomington, Indiana resident\u00a0George Nathaniel Stang is facing a misdemeanor charge of institutional criminal mischief for spray painting the church on Nov 13, just says after Donald Trump won the presidential election.<\/p>\n

The AP reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Twenty-seven-year-old George Nathaniel Stang of Bloomington tells The Herald-Times<\/a> that he\u2019s gay<\/a> and wanted others to see how he imagined his fear of the future. Stang says in a column to the newspaper that his actions invalidated the work of progressives and wrongly painted Trump\u2019s supporters \u201cwith a brush of hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Nov. 13, Stang claimed<\/a> he found the graffiti, which included the phrase \u201cFag Church\u201d \u2014 in reference to the inclusivity of the church \u2014 before Sunday services. When pressed with evidence, however, he confessed<\/a> in May. He said he wanted to\u00a0\u201cmobilize a movement after being disappointed in and fearful of the outcome of the national election,\u201d\u00a0WTHR reported at the time.<\/p>\n

Of course, if Stang\u2019s confession is true, it turns out that his vision of the future was prescient<\/a>.<\/p>\n
