Sinead O\u2019Connor\u2019s Mental Health Struggles Revealed in Devastating Facebook Video<\/b><\/p>\n

Singer Sinead O\u2019Connor, who has been vocal about mental illness in the past, posted a desperate video<\/a> to Facebook on Thursday about her situation. She\u2019s living in a motel in New Jersey and staying alive for the sake of others, she said. The video<\/a> was hashtagged #OneOfMillions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m now living in a Travelodge hotel in the arse end of New Jersey. I\u2019m all by myself and there\u2019s absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist\u00a0\u2014 the sweetest man<\/a> on Earth who says I\u2019m his hero. That\u2019s about the only thing keeping me alive at the moment. The fact that I\u2019m his bloody hero. And that\u2019s kind of pathetic.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cI\u2019m fighting, fighting, fighting, fighting like all the millions and millions that I know I\u2019m one of to stay alive every day.\u201d<\/p>\n

The AP reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

South Hackensack Police Capt. Robert Kaiser said Tuesday that officers conducted a welfare check, but O\u2019Connor wasn\u2019t in her room at the time. He said she is no longer staying there and police don\u2019t know where she is currently living. An email sent to her agent wasn\u2019t immediately returned.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Facebook post on Monday from an unknown person said the singer was safe and not suicidal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In O\u2019Connor\u2019s video<\/a>, she spoke about the devastating effect mental illness and its stigma has had on her:<\/p>\n

\u201cMental illness is a bit like drugs. It doesn\u2019t give a sh*t who you are. Equally you know what\u2019s worse is the stigma who doesn\u2019t give a sh*t who you are. All the people who are supposed to be loving you and taking care of you are treating you like sh*t\u2026I\u2019m fighting like all the millions I know to stay alive everyday which I\u2019m doing because I love the people that are doing this to me. I\u2019m not staying alive for me. If it was me I\u2019d be gone straight away back to my mom because I walked this Earth alone for two years as punishment for being mentally f**king ill and being angry that nobody would f**king take care of me, specifically for being suicidal.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Connor made national headlines in May 2016<\/a> after going missing on a bike ride, and in November 2015 <\/a>was given medical assistance after posting\u00a0on Facebook that she had taken an overdose.<\/p>\n
