Donald Trump\u2019s snap decision to ban transgender people from\u00a0the military<\/a> was because funding for his precious Mexican border wall was\u00a0threatened, according to a report in Politico<\/a>:<\/p>\n House Republicans were planning to pass a spending bill stacked with his campaign promises, including money to build his border wall with Mexico.<\/p>\n But an internal House Republican fight over transgender troops was threatening to blow up the bill. And House GOP insiders feared they might not have the votes to pass the legislation because defense hawks wanted a ban on Pentagon-funded sex<\/a> reassignment operations \u2014 something GOP leaders wouldn\u2019t give them.<\/p>\n They turned to Trump, who didn\u2019t hesitate.
