As promised in June, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) has introduced articles of impeachment against Donald Trump despite the fact he has little current support from fellow Democrats.<\/p>\n
The L.A. Times<\/em> reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n Sherman\u2019s move has put him at odds with House Democratic leaders, who have tried to quiet talk of impeachment, hoping instead to focus on the economy, healthcare and the investigation into Russia\u2019s interference in the presidential election.<\/p>\n Sherman, an 11-term Democrat who represents part of the San Fernando Valley,\u00a0was the first to draft and circulate articles of impeachment<\/a>\u00a0last month. He formally introduced the measure, HR 438, on the House floor Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n The measure\u00a0accuses Trump of obstruction of justice and seeking to \u201cuse his authority to hinder and cause the termination\u201d of an investigation into former national security advisor Michael Flynn, including \u201cthrough threatening, and then terminating, James Comey.\u201d<\/p>\n The bill has one co-sponsor, Rep. Al Green (D-TX).
