Every week, the GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBTQ-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend!<\/p>\n

1) The first trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 <\/em>was released, and features the Barden Bellas struggling to settle into their post-graduation lives and careers, when they are\u00a0presented with the opportunity to sing as the Bellas again. The film is directed by Trish Sie and stars a returning cast including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, and Ester Dean as out lesbian<\/a> Cynthia Rose, as well as newcomer to the series and out actress Ruby Rose. Pitch Perfect 3 <\/em>is due for release\u00a0on December 22nd. Watch the trailer below!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

2) Out dancer and choreographer Khasan Brailsford, who previously appeared on Season 1 of Logo\u2019s \u201cFire Island\u201d, stars in a new short titled Monster<\/em>.<\/a> According to producer Dennis Jauch, the short film is about \u201chonoring yourself and not letting anyone tear you down\u201d. Monster<\/em>\u00a0was produced by No Ceilings Entertainment. Watch it below:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

3) An announcement posted on the official Sense8<\/em> twitter<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday\u00a0revealed that after an outpouring of fan support following the cancellation of Sense8<\/em>, the beloved and GLAAD Media Award-winning\u00a0Netflix series will return for a two hour special to be released next year. The letter, penned by series co-creator Lana Wachowski,<\/strong> bids fans to \u201ctell your cluster\u201d and closes with an anticipatory, \u201cNow let\u2019s go find out what happens to Wolfgang.”<\/p>\n

4) Out YouTuber Hannah Hart is taking a cross-country journey across the United States to try some regional favorites in her new Food Network Series I Hart Food<\/em><\/a>. Hart will travel to cities including Asheville,\u00a0Santa Fe, and Minneapolis\u00a0to chat<\/a> with local chefs and discover new cuisine over the course of six episodes. I Hart Food<\/em> premieres Monday, August 14th at 10|9c on Food Network. In the meantime, watch Hart\u2019s announcement video<\/a> (which is also an episode of her famous series My Drunk Kitchen<\/em>):<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

5) The YouTube docu-series Queer Ghost Hunters<\/em>\u00a0is returning for a second season<\/a>! The show focuses on a team of ghost hunters who connect with LGBTQ+ ghosts in a variety of locations. The prison from The Shawshank Redemption<\/em> is the focus of the second season and is a site where over 50 men<\/a> were locked up in the early 1900s for violating anti-gay<\/a> laws. The show at times parodies other ghost hunting shows, but it also focuses on connecting with\u00a0queer history. Season 2 of Queer Ghost Hunters<\/em>\u00a0will premiere on their YouTube channel on Friday, June 30th. Watch the trailer here:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

6) Superfruit, the YouTube and musical duo composed of out singers Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi, have released\u00a0part one of their first album, Future Friends<\/em>, on Friday, June 30th<\/a>. Hoying and Grassi are both members of the Grammy award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix and have been making videos<\/a> as Superfruit since August 2013. Future Friends<\/em> part one is available on streaming platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Google Play and is available for purchase for $4.99. 7) Queer musicians Torraine Futurum and Rubby recently collaborated to release the single \u201cDrama\u201d. It is the first single off of Torraine\u2019s upcoming LP, which is is scheduled for release later this year and is\u00a0the first project to follow her breakout album Colonial<\/em>. Torraine and Rubby will sing their duet live this Sunday, July 2nd, at Torraine\u2019s live debut at Baby\u2019s All Right in New York<\/a>. Listen to the single below:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

8) Out actress Ellen Page recently performed an acoustic cover of Britney Spears\u2019 song \u201cLucky\u201d in a video<\/a> posted on professional dancer Emma Portner\u2019s YouTube channel. In the video<\/a>, Portner performs an improvised, interpretive dance routine while Page plays the guitar and sings. Watch below:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

9) Out performer Adam Lambert released a new single this Friday, June 30th, titled \u201cTwo Fux\u201d. The singer released a teaser for the song on Twitter on June 22nd. \u201cTwo Fux\u201d is\u00a0Lambert\u2019s first official release since his cover of Aretha Franklin\u2019s \u201cThink\u201d that appeared on the Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie<\/em> soundtrack. 10) The fourth\u00a0annual Queer Comics Expo<\/a> will take place next week, July 8-9, at the SOMArts Cultural Center in San Francisco. The event will celebrate queer culture and promote\u00a0diverse LGBTQ representation in comics, animations, and other related media forms with more than 50 exhibitors and special guest cartoonist Irene Koh from The Legend of Korra<\/em>. 11)\u00a0Memory – A Short Film<\/em>\u00a0is a project currently in the crowdfunding stage that is centered on Alex, a man<\/a> who gets stuck in an astral projection state and is forced to face his memories in order to escape. The series features a bisexual<\/a> female<\/a> protagonist, Anna, as well as a completely LGBTQ+ planet. The project is a science fiction short film that will be used to pitch the first season of a series,\u00a0Time Traveling in Bits & Pieces<\/em>, which is the brainchild of pansexual director and screenwriter Terra Budrevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117.
