Donald Trump was questioned about former FBI Director James Comey\u2019s testimony at a Rose Garden press conference with the leader of Romania on Friday.<\/p>\n
Trump told ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl that he did not ask for Comey\u2019s loyalty as Comey testified.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo he lied about that,\u201d asked Karl.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t say that,\u201d snapped Trump. \u201cI will tell you I didn\u2019t say that. And there\u2019d be nothing wrong if I did say it according to everybody that I\u2019ve read today. But I did not say that.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asked by Karl if he would be willing to give his version of events under oath, Trump replied:<\/p>\n
\u201cOne hundred percent.\u00a0I hardly know the man<\/a>, I\u2019m gonna say, \u2018I want you to pledge allegiance.\u2019 Who would do that? Who would ask a man<\/a> to pledge allegiance under oath? I mean, think of it. I hardly know the man<\/a>. It doesn\u2019t make sense. No I didn\u2019t say that.
