<\/a><\/p>\nThis week in New Music:\u00a0Sigur R\u00f3s<\/b>\u00a0expand their ever-growing interests in a live<\/a> performance with the\u00a0LA Philharmonic,\u00a0Bj\u00f6rk<\/strong><\/a> is still not finished with\u00a0Vulnicura<\/em>,\u00a0Au Revoir Simone<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0Anne Hart<\/strong> goes solo and\u00a0Lorde<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s (above) young heart is broken on \u201cPerfect Places.\u201d<\/p>\n Sigur R\u00f3s<\/b> with the LA Philharmonic<\/b><\/p>\n The performance featured new arrangements of their songs by Nico Muhly, Anna Meredith and others.<\/span><\/p>\n The stunning 100-minute set is now available online in it\u2019s entirety.<\/span><\/p>\n Sigur R\u00f3s seem to be expanding their interests of late. While a new album could possibly be on the way, the trio now seem more interested in side projects including the performance below, their new <\/span>Nor\u00f0ur og Ni\u00f0ur<\/b><\/a> arts festival in Reykjavik this coming December and a new brand of Lord Jones edibles called Sigurberry Gumdrops.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Bj\u00f6rk \u2013 \u201cNotget\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n So <\/span>Vulnicura<\/span><\/i><\/a> has been out for two years but <\/span>Bj\u00f6rk<\/b> seems to be far from finished with her last album.<\/span><\/p>\n Back in April, she released a <\/span>virtual reality video<\/b><\/a> for album track \u201cNotget\u201d and that has now been followed up with a new, non-VR video<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Have a look below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Annie Hart \u2013\u00a0Impossible Accomplice<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Fresh from their spellbinding performance on the\u00a0Twin Peaks<\/strong><\/a> reboot,\u00a0Au Revoir Simone<\/strong>\u2018s Annie Hart has announced details of her debut solo album\u00a0Impossible\u00a0Accomplice<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cBy some strange miracle of being away from my husband and small child,\u201d she says:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was finally able to properly say thank you to him for being supportive and doing his share as a parent, which a lot of women<\/a> don\u2019t get. I was also noticing some other men<\/a> around at the time, who were hitting on me but were blatantly just after the obvious and weren\u2019t really seeing me for me. And there was my husband, who knew all my neurotic tendencies and workaholic nature and never stopped loving me more surely or evenly for over 10 years. I\u2019m glad I finally have that one nice love song about him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Impossible Accomplice<\/span><\/i> will be released on July 14th.<\/span><\/p>\n Lorde \u2013 \u201cPerfect Places\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n Now aged 20, Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O\u2019Connor says:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMy heart broke. I moved out of home and into the city and I made new friends and started to realize that no-one is just good or bad, that everyone is both I started to discover in a profound, scary, blood-aching way who I was when I was alone, what I did when I did things only for myself.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was reckless and graceless and terrifying and tender. I threw sprawling parties and sat in restaurants until the early hours, learning what it\u2019s like to be an adult, even talking like one sometimes, until I caught myself. All I wanted to do was dance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The latest track from the album \u201cPerfect Places\u201d would appear to be concerned with wasted nights out and the futility of youth. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cEvery night, I live<\/a> and die,\u201d she sings. \u201cWatch the wasters blow the speakers, spill my guts beneath the outdoor light. \n<\/a>Back in April, Sigur R\u00f3s<\/a> played three nights at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the LA Philharmonic. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/a>On the album\u2019s lead single \u201cHard to Be Still,\u201d Hart says that it\u2019s the first time she has managed to write \u201ca normal love song\u201d without the anger, betrayal, sadness and whatever you\u2019re having yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/a>New Zealand\u2019s much-heralded <\/span>Lorde<\/b><\/a> is close to releasing her second album <\/span>Melodrama<\/span><\/i> and (as is often the case with sophomore releases) fans should expect it to deal with growing up, personal struggles and broken hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n
