Champagne sparkled in crystal glasses, laughter drifted between familiar faces and complete strangers, and for a few moments I simply stood there, taking it all in. There is something wonderfully liberating about walking into a room where nobody knows your history. Everyone has the opportunity to become exactly who they choose to be.<\/p>\n<p>I realised that my earlier anxieties had quietly slipped away somewhere between Tongham and Mayfair. I wasn&#8217;t wondering whether I belonged.
