<\/a><\/p>\nEight men<\/a> were arrested on Sunday night in Indonesia<\/a> for allegedly holding a \u201cgay<\/a> party.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Police in the world\u2019s most populous Muslim country targeted 14 men<\/a> holding a party in two hotel rooms in Surabaya, Indonesia\u2019s second biggest city.<\/span><\/p>\n Last month it <\/span>was reported<\/b><\/a> that two men<\/a> in Aceh province who were reportedly caught having sex<\/a> face a punishment of 100 lashes.<\/span><\/p>\n According to the Star<\/a>, Shinto Silitonga, Surabaya police\u2019s head of detectives, said that some of the men<\/a> were watching gay<\/a> porn and performing \u201cdeviant sexual acts.\u201d<\/p>\n Eight of the men<\/a> have been named as suspect and files have been charged anti-pornography laws. Two of the men<\/a>, who are also accused of initiating and facilitating the party, could face up to 15 years in jail.<\/span><\/p>\n The six other men<\/a> have been released.<\/span><\/p>\n Although gay<\/a> sex<\/a> is illegal in Aceh, which upholds Sharia law, there is no legislation banning it in the rest of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n However, there has been a recent backlash against homosexuality in Indonesia with lawmakers calling for an <\/span>outright ban<\/b><\/a> nationwide.
