In the\u00a0latest Google Home ad showing off the device\u2019s new ability to support multiple users, Google chose\u00a0to also support gay<\/a> families.<\/p>\n The 33-second ad, posted on YouTube Thursday, shows a gay<\/a> couple<\/a>, Ross and Alex, asking Google Home what their respective days look like.<\/p>\n While Alex\u2019s day is off to a rough, traffic-filled start, Ross\u2019 free morning gives him the chance to give his man<\/a> a hand\u00a0by taking their daughter and son to school.<\/p>\n You can watch the full ad here:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The seemingly uneventful ad on its own\u00a0speaks volumes.\u00a0There\u2019s no indication that this family is unlike any other. The kids are quietly eating breakfast while the parents figure out their\u00a0days. But that\u2019s likely the intent: to show that same-sex<\/a> parents are just as helpful, happy and loving as their heterosexual counterparts.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the Internet giant\u2019s first foray into\u00a0featuring \u2014 and celebrating \u2014 the LGBT community. In March, Refinery29 <\/a>reports, the company debuted the winner of its \u201cDoodle for Google\u201d art competition,\u00a015-year-old Sarah Harrison who\u00a0showcased both queer\u00a0and transgender individuals in her diverse doodle.<\/p>\n In April 2016, Google also told the story of Brad, a gay<\/a> man<\/a> on the receiving end of a rough text message breakup who used a new Google Calendar feature to get in shape and get a new man<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The company doesn\u2019t use the LGBT community to only market itself, however. In 2014, a Google Doodle <\/a>showcased Winter Olympics sports doused in colors of the rainbow in response to\u00a0the Sochi Games and Russia\u2019s law banning \u2018gay<\/a> propaganda\u2019.<\/p>\n Google has also has a habit of changing it\u2019s search bar to support Gay Pride Month, the Huffington Post<\/a> reported in 2013.<\/p>\n This obviously\u00a0isn\u2019t the first time Google has showcased the LGBT community,\u00a0and these Doodles and dads likely\u00a0won\u2019t be the last.<\/p>\n The post New \u2018Google Home\u2019 Ad Features Gay Dads: WATCH<\/a> appeared first on Towleroad<\/a>.<\/p>\n
