Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor on Game of Thrones<\/em>, says he\u2019s considering entering politics\u00a0in Northern Ireland to fight for causes like marriage equality and separation of church and state.<\/p>\n The Belfast Telegraph<\/em> reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n Nairn, who launched his career as a drag artist called Revvlon at the Kremlin nightclub and recently DJ-ed for stars such as Ryan Reynolds at the Critics\u2019 Choice Awards in LA, branded Northern Ireland\u2019s failure to pass equal marriage rights for gay<\/a> people \u201ca disgrace\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI really don\u2019t understand why we\u2019re the only little enclave of the country that can\u2019t do it,\u201d he told the Belfast Telegraph.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope that we can come into line with the rest of Europe and the rest of the United Kingdom and Ireland.<\/p>\n Nairn added:<\/p>\n \u201cI definitely would be prepared to make the change myself if it\u2019s going to help my community and help other people\u2026It\u2019s just making sure that everyone\u2019s treated equally. Is that so progressive? I don\u2019t think it\u2019s progressive, I think it\u2019s human. And not just gay<\/a> people \u2013 women<\/a>\u2019s rights, immigrants, people of different ethnic backgrounds.I just don\u2019t see why people are treated differently or with a different set of rules. It\u2019s just wrong\u2026I saw what religion did to people when I grew up and I certainly didn\u2019t want any part of it.
