One Direction\u2019s Harry Styles Launches Solo Career with Power Ballad \u2018Sign of the Times\u2019 \u2013 LISTEN<\/b><\/p>\n

One Direction singer Harry Styles released his first single last night and it\u2019s an ethereal pop\/rock track that\u2019s\u00a0drawing comparisons to David Bowie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Styles did an interview with Radio 1\u2019s Nick Grimshaw before the track\u2019s debut.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the least weird way possible, it\u2019s my favourite album to listen to at the moment, he told Grimshaw. \u201cI think if you put out something that you don\u2019t stand behind and really love, then if it doesn\u2019t go well then you could regret not doing what you wanted to do.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n

Of recording the album, Styles said: \u201c<\/b>I think we wrote about 70 songs. We did 50 songs and ideas in Jamaica and that\u2019s including like little ideas \u2026 full songs, I say there are 30 songs probably. I just wanted to not be somewhere that I\u2019d get distracted. It was 360 of writing, you\u2019d go home for dinner, write at the house then go back to the studio. I liked being away from everything and doing it like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Styles also talked about his dating life:\u00a0\u201cI haven\u2019t dated in a long time really because I went away to do the movie then did the album so I haven\u2019t in a while. I have a couple<\/a> of candles left still though. I used to (research dates), then I said I\u2019m not going to do that anymore, it\u2019s impossible to go in without a perception of someone and you\u2019ve never met them and I started feeling like that was wrong and weird.\u201d<\/p>\n
