NEW YORK<\/strong> \u2013 Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD \u2013 the world\u2019s LGBTQ media advocacy organization, released the following statement after the United States House of Representatives pulled a potential vote on the American Health Care Act, a bill that would have stripped away health insurance from many LGBTQ Americans.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. House today did the right thing by pulling a vote on the American Health Care Act which would have stripped away health insurance from millions of Americans, including many in the LGBTQ community. Health care is a human right, and with access to HIV and STI testing and the affordability of checkups and life-saving medications on the line, it\u2019s time to buckle down and keep fighting to protect the health care that the LGBTQ community deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n
