A bisexual<\/a> man<\/a> in Chicago is having trouble balancing his attraction for men<\/a> with being faithful to his wife, so he\u2019s seeking words of wisdom<\/a> from queer advice columnist Rainbow Man.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

\u201cI am a 42-year-old married bisexual<\/a> guy<\/a>,\u201d the man<\/a> explains. \u201cBefore marriage, I have had sex<\/a> with 3 guys<\/a>. After marriage, it stopped, but resurfaced. I met 3 guys<\/a> later, though it wasn\u2019t sex<\/a>, it was cuddling, hugging, caressing.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

OK, so what\u2019s the issue?\n<\/p>\n

The man<\/a> continues, \u201cEven if I am not failing in any of my duties, responsibilities towards my wife, am I cheating her, though I only\u00a0give in to my instincts every now and then? It happens once in a while.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

He signs the letter \u201cConfused Man.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

In his response, Rainbow Man starts out by clearing up any myths about bisexuals<\/a>, in general.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBisexuals are capable of complete monogamous relationships with their spouses of any gender,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd there are bisexuals<\/a> who live<\/a> non-monogamous relationships as well. It depends on the person himself and what he prefers.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Word.\n<\/p>\n

Now, as for the man<\/a>\u2019s guilt over \u201ccuddling, hugging, caressing\u201d with other dudes behind his wife\u2019s back, Rainbow Man says honestly is probably the best policy.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI can only tell you what I would have done if I was in your place,\u201d he writes. \u201cI would have informed my woman<\/a> wife about my encounters after educating her slowly about sexuality and gender.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

He\u00a0encourages the husband to put himself in his wife\u2019s shoes.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cHow would you react if your wife had an affair with other women<\/a> or other men<\/a>? Will you be accepting?\u201d he asks. \u201cYou can\u2019t expect women<\/a> to accept things that you don\u2019t accept the same.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Rainbow Man says, the husband should come clean and tell his wife what he\u2019s been up to. Who knows? Maybe she\u2019ll be fine with it.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBelieve me,\u201d he writes, \u201csometimes, we underestimate people\u2019s understanding.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
