<\/p>\nBarry Jenkins and the Stunned \u2018Moonlight\u2019 Producers Spoke to Press Moments After Their Oscar Win: WATCH<\/b><\/p>\n

After accepting their awards, Oscar winners head backstage to speak to the press and so it was Moonlight<\/em>, and not La La Land<\/em> producers, finally, who headed backstage after the biggest flub presentation in Oscar history.<\/p>\n Asked how the experience of making Moonlight<\/em> has changed his life, director Barry Jenkins replied, \u201cThe last 20 minutes of my life have been insane. I don\u2019t think my life could be changed more dramatically than what\u2019s happened in the last 20 or 30 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n Jenkins explained what was going through his head as the mistake was revealed:<\/p>\n \u201cI think all the movies that were nominated were worthy so I took the results. I applauded like everybody else. I noticed the commotion that was happening and I thought that something strange had occurred and\u00a0I\u2019m sure everybody saw my face but I was speechless when the result \u2013 that was awkward \u2013 I\u2019ve watched the Academy Awards and I\u2019ve never seen that happen before. And so it made a very special feeling even more special but not in the way that I expected.\u201d<\/p>\n He also\u00a0lamented how the other producers handled a really uncomfortable situation.<\/p>\n \u201cThe folks from La La Land<\/em> were so gracious.
