{"id":50328,"date":"2017-02-16T12:10:51","date_gmt":"2017-02-16T17:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/washington-state-supreme-court-rules-in-favor-of-gay-couple-denied-service-by-floral-business\/"},"modified":"2017-02-16T12:10:51","modified_gmt":"2017-02-16T17:10:51","slug":"washington-state-supreme-court-rules-in-favor-of-gay-couple-denied-service-by-floral-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/washington-state-supreme-court-rules-in-favor-of-gay-couple-denied-service-by-floral-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Washington State Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Gay Couple Denied Service by Floral Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Washington State Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Gay Couple Denied Service by Floral Business<\/b><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hrc-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/images\/made\/images\/remote\/http_hrc-assets.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/files\/images\/blog\/Judge-Court-Gavel-1600by900_640_360.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Today, HRC hailed a <a href=\"http:\/\/hrc-assets.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/\/files\/documents\/Ingersoll_v_Arlenes_Flowers_Washington_State_Supreme_Court_Decision_.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">decision<\/a> by the Washington State Supreme Court upholding state law prohibiting discrimination against LGBTQ people by businesses providing services to the public.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of <em>Ingersoll v Arlene&#8217;s Flowers <\/em>filed by the ACLU on behalf of Curt Freed and Robert Ingersoll<em>, <\/em>the court found that Arlene\u2019s Flowers clearly violated the state\u2019s non-discrimination law when refusing to provide floral arrangements to a <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">gay<\/a> <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a> because of the owner\u2019s personal religious beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFreedom of religion is fundamental to American society, that\u2019s why it is firmly protected by the U.S. Constitution. People should also never use their personal religious beliefs as a free pass to violate the law or the basic civil rights of others,\u201d said HRC Legal Director Sarah Warbelow. \u201cBusinesses who are open to the public should be open to everyone on the same terms.
