Bisexual singer Lady Gaga led the half time show at tonight’s Super Bowl LI with a medley of some of her biggest hits. Her set kicked off with a mashup of \u201cGod Bless America\u201d and \u201cThis Land Is Your Land\u201d with red and blue drones transforming into a visual of the American flag behind Gaga as she said, \u201cOne national under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.\u201d The medley lineup also included Gaga\u2019s hit song \u201cBorn This Way\u201d as she sung to the largest sports audience of the year, \u201cno matter gay<\/a>, straight, or bi<\/a>, lesbian<\/a>, transgender life, I\u2019m on the right track baby.\u201d Gaga, who last week was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award,<\/a> was also featured in jewelry brand Tiffany\u2019s advertisement. One of the first ads of Super Bowl LI was Coca-Cola\u2019s \u201cAmerica is Beautiful\u201d spot, which actually premiered at Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014. The piece features families from all over the country, including two gay<\/a> fathers roller-skating with their daughter. When the ad premiered, it was the first Super Bowl commercial to feature a gay<\/a> family. \u201cIncluding a gay<\/a> family in this ad is not only a step forward for the advertising industry, but a reflection of the growing majority of Americans from all walks of life who proudly support their LGBTQ friends, family and neighbors as integral parts of ‘America the Beautiful,\u2019\u201d said GLAAD CEO and President Sarah Kate Ellis at the time<\/a>. Coca-Cola\u2019s decision to re-air the ad this year is a timely reminder that all communities must stand together and resist powers which seek to divide us. Airbnb debuted their new ad campaign, \u201c#WeAccept.\u201d The ad shows a diverse group of people with text reading \u201cWe believe no matter who you are, where you\u2019re from, who you love or who you worship, we all belong. The world is more beautiful the more you accept.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Anheuser-Busch and 84 Lumber ran advertisements about immigrant stories. Busch\u2019s ad focuses on the brand\u2019s co-founder Adolphus Busch<\/a> and his journey from Germany to St. Louis in 1857. \u00a0In 84 Lumber\u2019s spot, a mother and daughter leave their home in Mexico and head for the U.S. border only to be blocked by a wall after the long journey. The daughter pulls out a handmade American flag, just as the two find a large door in the wall and walk through. The screen displays the text \u201cThe will to succeed is always welcome here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a 10 Hair Care aired a spot highlighting a diverse group<\/a> of people including those of color and with disabilities. Audi’s advertisement focused on equal pay for women<\/a>. The Google Home ad included a shot of a home with a rainbow flag<\/a>. Hamilton<\/em>\u2019s original Schuyler Sisters (Jasmine Cephas Jones, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Phillipa Soo) performed \u201cAmerica The Beautiful\u201d prior to kick off, and updated the lyrics to include brotherhood \u201cand sisterhood.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
