OK, so something serious happened tonight, and we should all educate ourselves\u00a0on the details.<\/p>\n

In fact, our sister site\u00a0LGBTQ Nation<\/em> has an excellent post up about everything you need to know about Trump\u2019s Supreme Court pick: Neil Gorsuch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But there was also an element of the absurd to President Trump\u2019s proceedings\u00a0that warrants a mention. The President\u00a0treated his announcement like an episode of his reality show\u00a0The Apprentice,\u00a0<\/em>complete with multiple finalists guarded until the last moment, and the primetime TV\u00a0bombshell<\/em> treatment.<\/p>\n

And since the President is going to treat matters of national import like pure theater, he\u2019s going to have to deal with the critics.<\/p>\n

One moment in particular rings\u00a0especially ridiculous \u2014 his verbal soup just after he\u00a0dropped the big name.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I am keeping another promise to the American people by nominating Judge Neil Gorsuch, of the United States Supreme Court, to be of<\/em> the United States Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n
