White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus defended a statement put out by the White House on Holocaust Remembrance Day that did not mention Jewish people or anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n

Meet the Press<\/em> host Chuck Todd read Priebus a condemnation of the statement from\u00a0conservative columnist John Podhoretz:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Final Solution was aimed solely at the Jews. The Holocaust was about the Jews. There is no \u2018proud\u2019 way to offer a remembrance of the Holocaust that does not reflect that simple, awful world historical fact. To universalize it to, quote, \u2018All those who suffered,\u2019 is to scrub the Holocaust of its meaning.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then asked Priebus if he had any regrets about the White House\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

Priebus said no:<\/p>\n

Trump spokesman Hope Hicks excused the statement as well<\/a>, telling\u00a0CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper that\u00a0\u201cdespite what the media reports, we are an incredibly inclusive group and we took into account all of those who suffered.\u201d<\/p>\n
