<\/a><\/p>\nDonald Trump wants a 20% tax on all\u00a0imports from Mexico to pay for the unnecessary wall on the U.S. border.<\/p>\n
CNN reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n White House press secretary Sean Spicer said the comprehensive tax reform package Trump and Republicans are looking to put together will include taxing imports from other countries, like Mexico.<\/p>\n \u201cBy doing it that we can do $10 billion a year and easily pay for the wall just through that mechanism alone. That\u2019s really going to provide the funding,\u201d Spicer said, referring to a 20% tax. According to the Office of the US Trade Representative, Mexico\u2019s exports to the US in 2015 was valued at $316.4 billion. The trade deficit is estimated to be $50 billion.<\/p>\n More:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The announcement comes on the same day Mexican President Enrique Pe\u00f1a Nieto canceled a scheduled meeting with Trump<\/a>. Pe\u00f1a Nieto canceled the meeting after Trump announced that Mexico was paying for the wall.<\/p>\n Trump later claimed that the two leaders agreed to cancel the meeting.<\/p>\n Tweeted Nieto:<\/p>\n \u201cThis morning we informed the White House\u00a0we would not be attending a meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the President of the United States. He doesn\u2019t seem to be an American.
