<\/a><\/p>\nA restaurant near Johannesburg, South Africa was caught discriminating\u00a0this week when it forbid\u00a0Eyewitness News journalists Clement Manyathela and Victor Magwedze, who were posing as a gay<\/a> couple<\/a>, from sitting down at the restaurant\u2019s date night.<\/p>\n News24 reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n In an SMS, which is sent out once a booking has been made for \u201cdate night\u201d, the restaurant stipulates that same-sex<\/a> couples<\/a> are not welcome\u2026<\/p>\n \u2026On Monday, restaurant owner Sami-Jo Amiras told News24: \u201cDate night is a themed event designed for a man<\/a> and a woman<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reason for stating \u2018no same-sex<\/a> couple<\/a>\u2019 is not meant to discriminate against anyone, but to control a couple<\/a>\u2019s event.\u201d<\/p>\n The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is looking into the matter.
