The Women\u2019s March on Washington<\/a> gathered over a half-million\u00a0participants in Washington D.C. to rally and march in solidarity for equality, acceptance. Additionally more than 600 \u201csister marches\u201d<\/a>\u00a0took place throughout the nation, and around the globe. GLAAD rallied along with citizens and advocates from a variety of communities, joining our voices together for a stronger, more diverse, and more accepting United States and world.<\/p>\n

\"\"GLAAD was\u00a0an official partner<\/a>\u00a0of the Women\u2019s March on Washington. In Los Angeles, GLAAD President & CEO\u00a0Sarah Kate Ellis<\/a>\u00a0addressed the rally, talking about the continuous fight to be visible for LGBTQ people, women<\/a>, immigrants, people of color, Muslims, people with disabilities, and so many more.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we relinquish our power to be visible, we allow the people who\u2019d rather not see us to ignore us. Make us insignificant and small. Makes it easier to take away our rights,\u201d said Ellis. \u201cDon\u2019t let them erase us. Demand nothing less than full and lasting acceptance for all women<\/a>, for all LGBTQ people, for all people, full stop. That\u2019s what it means to be American, and we won\u2019t let anyone tell us different \u2014 not even the President of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n
