Any minute now, reality star and President-Elect Donald Trump (The Apprentice,\u00a0<\/em>The White House)\u00a0will be firing off a maelstrom of angry Tweets directed at moths \u2014 particularly the recently-named\u00a0Neopalpa donaldtrumpi.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A teeny-tiny moth (even by moth standards), this little vermin has a wingspan of a mere 0.4 inches (sad!),\u00a0<\/em>and is\u00a0distinguished by its yellow and white scales, which bear an uncanny resemblance to the high-treason hairstyle long enjoyed by\u00a0the bungling blowhard business tycoon.<\/p>\n

This is appropriate, since flies and other insects have proven to be instinctively drawn to Trump\u2019s hair, as you can see in the photograph above.<\/p>\n

\u201cIts distinctive wing pattern and its unique DNA bar code<\/a> immediately flagged it as a new and undescribed species,\u201d says evolutionary biologist Vazrick Nazari.<\/p>\n

Naming\u00a0new species after cultural figures helps foster public interest \u2014 for the creature, as well as its ecosystem.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that the president will make conservation of such fragile ecosystems in the U.S. his top priority,\u201d Nazari tells Live Science<\/em>. \u201cThese ecosystems still contain many undiscovered and undescribed species, and deserve to be protected for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n
