The Justice Department will investigate FBI director James Comey\u2019s decisions regarding Hillary Clinton\u2019s emails.\u00a0<\/a>That will include Comey\u2019s choice to reopen\u00a0the email issue\u00a0only days before the election.\u00a0In response, Trump tweeted<\/a> that Clinton was \u201cguilty as hell.\u201d<\/p>\n DEPORTATIONS. House speaker Paul Ryan told an undocumented woman and her child that there would be no deportation squads.\u00a0<\/a>\u201cI can see that you love your daughter and that you\u2019re a nice person who has a great future ahead of you, and I hope your future\u2019s here,\u201d he said. His promise contradicts Trump\u2019s.<\/p>\n OBAMACARE. The House is set today to follow the Senate\u2019s lead and take the first step toward repealing the program.\u00a0<\/a>But both extreme and moderate GOP reps\u00a0are anxious<\/a> about repealing with unclear plans for a replacement.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n DAILY WATCH: WILL TRUMP USE MEDIA LEAKS TO GO AFTER JOURNALISTS?<\/strong><\/p>\n At Trump\u2019s press conference yesterday, he shut down questions from CNN because they reported on the spy dossier of unproven claims about his ties to Russia. It\u2019s not the first time he has demonized and punished media outlets for reporting or writing critically on him. Donate<\/a><\/span> As Simon notes, it\u2019s actually Obama who began the trend of prosecuting journalists for investigating and reporting leaks\u2013but under Trump, that could have devastating consequences for a free press. \u201cWe\u2019re very concerned that there will be a weakening of the protections that journalists have relied on to be able to carry out their communication with confidential sources,\u201d he says. If you can\u2019t travel, all you have to do is Google \u201cTrump,\u201d \u201cprotest\u201d and the name of your city or state to find a myriad of options.<\/p>\n Personally, we\u2019re\u00a0thrilled by this sweeping, detailed nationwide\u00a0vision of resistance<\/a>\u00a0in the coming several days put out by the collective Refuse Fascism, which plans to have a major presence in D.C. starting\u00a0this<\/em> weekend (Jan 13-15). Give it a read and be inspired by what could be. Then figure out how to be a part of it\u2013wherever you are.
