<\/p>\nLouisiana AG Opposed to LGBT Rights: I Love My Gay Brother But \u2018The Law\u2019 Matters More \u2013 WATCH<\/b><\/p>\n

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry (R) is speaking out about his fight against LGBT rights and how that impacts his relationship with his gay<\/a> brother.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Landry won a victory against Governor John Bel Edwards (D) when a federal judge struck down Bel Edwards’ executive order<\/a> granting non-discrimination protections to LGBT state workers. Landry praised the decision.<\/p>\n Meanwhile Landry’s brother, Nicholas Landry, has been a vocal LGBT rights activist and said in November that he has essentially become estranged from his family over his brother’s battle against equality.<\/p>\n In a video<\/a> posted on YouTube, Landry says, “My coming out process was not the easiest time, and now that I’m standing on my own, I know I can’t sit silent anymore.”<\/p>\n He added, “I’m not really into politics (but) Jeffrey is suing…to block the right for equal marriage and equal rights in the state of Louisiana… It’s that kind of hatred and that kind of bigotry and that type kind of discrimination that is, just, uncalled for.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n When asked by WGNO’s Susan Roesgen<\/a> about how he would feel if his brother were discriminated against for being gay<\/a>, Landry said, “I love my brother, that’s unquestionable… (but) what I tell him is that we have to respect the law.
