Out singer Troye Sivan kicked off his Suburbia tour this week, and is partnering with The Ally Coalition <\/a>to use each tour stop to advocate for an LGBTQ-inclusve curriculum in schools, and providing safe spaces at each venue. Every show will include a partnership with a local nonprofit organization that fans can bring donations in support of to enter for a chance to win a merch item, keep up with @allycoalition on twitter <\/a>and Troye on tumblr<\/a> to see what to bring to your show!<\/p>\n

Sivan is working with The Ally Coalition and GLSEN to empower fans to send a message encouraging schools to adopt an LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum. At each show, attendees will be able to receive an exclusive sticker by taking a photo for the #InclusiveSchoolsNow campaign and sending a letter to their local education officials calling for an inclusive curriculum. Fans who are unable to make it to a show have a chance to win the sticker by sending a message to their local official through this site<\/a>, and tweeting a photo of their confirmation to @allycoalition.<\/p>\n

Sivan is also celebrating #SpiritDay and showing his support for LGBTQ youth with a special PSA airing across iHeartMedia stations<\/a>. Check out what he had to say below and find out how you can join him by going purple to support LGBTQ youth at glaad.org\/spiritday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each year, millions of people “go purple” for Spirit Day in a united stand against bullying and to show support for LGBTQ youth. According to a 2015 GLSEN survey, more than half of LGBTQ students report being victimized based on sexual orientation, with a further three quarters of students who report hearing anti-LGBTQ remarks in school. Started in 2010 by high school student Brittany McMillan, Spirit Day now draws the participation of celebrities, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, and individuals around the world, who join together in a united stand against bullying.<\/p>\n
