Its third episode on September 22 was up 22% from its season premiere and up 9% above the previous week, according to Nielsen and Logo. Season to date and across all platforms, Finding Prince Charming<\/em> has reached 3 million plus viewers. Finding Prince Charming<\/em>, combined with the solid ratings of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,<\/em> led Logo to its highest-rated Thursday (September 22) in network history.<\/p>\n Us magazine adds<\/a>:<\/p>\n Casting is currently underway for the second season’s star, and for the first time, fans will have a say in who vies for his affections. From Thursday, November 3, until Wednesday, November 16, potential suitors can share a photo or video<\/a> via hashtag on Instagram or Twitter to prove that they deserve a spot on the show. Beginning Thursday, November 17, fans can cast their votes for their top choice, and the winner will compete on season 2. (Click here<\/a> for more information on voting.)<\/p>\n Will producers fix the one thing that Dan Savage pointed out<\/a> makes absolutely no sense in the show?<\/p>\n The “scarcity formula” used by ABC for its competition among heterosexuals (“an imbalance between supply of pussy<\/a>\/cock<\/a> and demand for pussy<\/a>\/cock<\/a>,” as Savage, puts it) makes no sense in a gay<\/a> context in which men<\/a> would be likely to run off with each other instead of the bachelor (and just might<\/em>).<\/p>\n Again, Savage’s advice for helping it work in a gay context<\/a>:<\/p>\n Just cast one exclusive gay<\/a> top as your bachelor and thirteen gay<\/a> power bottoms as your suitors. Or vice-versa. That’s all it would take.<\/p>\n But if you really wanted to have some fun with the intricacies and subcultures of gay<\/a> male<\/a> desire…<\/p>\n Cast a hunky older bear as the bachelor and thirteen skinny twinks<\/a> who are exclusively attracted to hunky older bears as his suitors. Or vice-versa. Or cast a hot leather\/BDSM Master as the bachelor and thirteen leather\/BDSM slaves as his suitors. Or vice-versa. (No switches!) Or cast one skinny guy<\/a> into big guys<\/a> as the bachelor and thirteen big guys<\/a> into skinny guys<\/a> as his suitors. Or vice-versa.<\/p>\n Added bonus: Gay people know these complications exist, straight people are fascinated by them, and including\/mining them would make for a crazier, more informed, and interesting show.<\/p>\n Without some other form of scarcity, without creating a different supply and demand problem, there’s nothing to prevent the suitors on Finding Prince Charming<\/em> from running off with each other or (more likely) winding up in a writhing heap on the lawn.
