In recognition of National Coming Out Day, GLAAD today debuted Out<\/em>, a mini-documentary featuring the coming out stories of four LGBTQ young people.<\/p>\n

National Coming Out Day is an annual LGBTQ awareness day observed on October 11. Founded in 1988, the emphasis is that the most basic form of activism is coming out to family, friends, and colleagues. The foundational belief is that anti-LGBTQ bias thrives in an atmosphere of silence, and that once people know that they have loved ones who are LGBTQ, they are far less likely to maintain anti-LGBTQ views.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
