Biopic Based on the Life of Gay Erotic Artist \u2018Tom of Finland\u2019 Gets First Teaser \u2013 WATCH<\/b><\/p>\n

The first teaser trailer for a new biopic based on the life of Tom of Finland<\/a> has just been released.<\/p>\n

Directed by Dome Karukoski<\/a>, the film follows Touko Laaksonen, a decorated officer, as he returns home to Finland after fighting for his country in World War II. But life during peacetime proves just as distressing as his time on the battlefields in Europe. Laaksonen finds Helsinki rampant with persecution of homosexuals and sees many men<\/a> around him pressured to marry women<\/a> and have children. Touko finds refuge in his art, specializing in homoerotic drawings of muscular men<\/a>, free of inhibitions. His work – made famous by his signature ‘Tom of Finland’ – “became the emblem of a generation of men<\/a> and fanned the flames of a gay<\/a> revolution,” as the film’s producers describe it.<\/p>\n

According to film blog Dark Horizons<\/a>, Tom of Finland<\/em> is still being edited but will be released in February.<\/p>\n
