You might remember the strange outing of Yusaf Mack. The Philadelphia pro-boxer appeared in a gay<\/a> porn, but claimed that he’d done so against his will — he was drugged! But then he backtracked and said that there was no coercion after all, and he’s just plain old bi<\/a>. And then he dropped another bombshell. He’s not bi<\/a> at all–he’s full-blown gay<\/a>, and showed off some pretty gay<\/a> photos.<\/p>\n

Yusaf seems to be settling a little more comfortably into his role as an openly gay<\/a> performer these days, and is appearing in some new scenes with the Reality Dudes Network. Specifically, he’s working under the umbrella of Reality Thugs, a title which he addressed in a recent interview with Gawker<\/a>. He’s also partnering with Cash Models, a cam<\/a> site.<\/p>\n

Queerty caught up with Yusaf recently to talk about his career. He’s a man<\/a> of few words — in other interviews, he said that his time as a boxer has affected his ability to speak — but he was still able to shed some light on his experiences over the last few months.<\/p>\n

I was ashamed.<\/p>\n

What changed your mind after that?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just being real with myself. I was tired of lying.<\/p>\n

What did you say when you finally came out to your family?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I told them who I am.<\/p>\n

How has your family reacted to the news?<\/strong><\/p>\n

They said we still love you. Whatever you’re into, that’s you.<\/p>\n

How have other boxers reacted?<\/strong><\/p>\n

They shy away from me. Treat me different.<\/p>\n

They’re not happy about it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friends and people who love me turned on me.<\/p>\n

Did you hear from other gay<\/a> athletes after you came out?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No.<\/p>\n

Have you had a chance to date men<\/a> since coming out?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you going to?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No, the business I’m in, when I’m on camera<\/a>, I do what I do for business. When I’m not in front of the camera<\/a>, I’m a single dad.<\/p>\n

In an interview a few years ago, you said “my interest is trannies<\/a>” — did you hear from anyone who objected to that word?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No, not really. In the interview, I was like, I was sorry for not using the word trans<\/a>. I have nothing against nobody.<\/p>\n

Are you still boxing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I gave that up.<\/p>\n

Do you like the new porn you’re doing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love it. Hopefully I’ll be able to take care of my family. I wanna go long range with this.<\/p>\n

Do you get recognized in public for being a boxer or for the porn or for both?<\/strong><\/p>\n

From boxing, “you’re the boxer who was in that porn.”<\/p>\n

Do you have advice for other gay<\/a> athletes?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you didn’t come out yet, come out to your family. They’re going to accept you or reject you. The only thing you can do as a person is be you. Friends and family, they’re going to love you for who you are. Gay or straight, they’re going to love you.<\/p>\n

How do you like working with Cash Models?<\/strong><\/p>\n

All the way baby. I love working with them. Hopefully I plan on going to the top.<\/p>\n
