This Study May Have The Answer.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/queerty-prodweb.s3.amazonaws.com\/content\/docs\/\/2016\/06\/man-smoking-drinking.jpg\" alt=\"man-smoking-drinking\" width=\"600\" height=\"408\"><\/p>\n<p>A&nbsp;new study finds that <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">bisexuals<\/a> drink and smoke more than their <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">gay<\/a>, <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/?mp_code=akftr\">lesbian<\/a> and straight counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>The report comes&nbsp;from&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/archinte.jamanetwork.com\/article.aspx?articleid=2530417\" target=\"_blank\">the University of Vanderbilt<\/a>, where researchers poured over data collected from the 2013 and 2014 National Health Interview Surveys. What they learned was that members of the LGB&nbsp;community, as a whole, reported&nbsp;higher levels of stress and&nbsp;more severe drinking and smoking habits than&nbsp;heterosexuals.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Findings from our study indicate that LGB adults experience significant health disparities &mdash; particularly in mental health and substance use &mdash; likely due to the minority stress that LGB adults experience as a result of their exposure to both interpersonal and structural discrimination,&rdquo; Gilbert Gonzales, PhD,&nbsp;who led the studies, writes.<\/p>\n<p>Bisexuals reported the highest levels of&nbsp;psychological distress, which researchers believe could be a result of the&nbsp;marginalization they suffer in both mainstream society and the LGBTQ community.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Combined with the relative scarcity of <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">bisexual<\/a> communities and organizations, this ostracizing may lead to social isolation, a risk factor for psychological distress,&rdquo; researchers add.<\/p>\n<p>Now, onto the data&hellip;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bisexual <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/?mp_code=akftr\">women<\/a> were 2 times more likely to report &ldquo;moderate psychological distress&rdquo; and nearly 3.5&nbsp;times more like to report &ldquo;severe psychological distress&rdquo; than their heterosexual counterparts.<\/li>\n<li>Bisexual <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">men<\/a> were 2.5&nbsp;times more likely to report &ldquo;moderate psychological distress&rdquo; and nearly 5&nbsp;times more like to report &ldquo;severe psychological distress&rdquo; than their heterosexual counterparts.<\/li>\n<li>Bisexual <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/?mp_code=akftr\">woman<\/a> were 2 times more likely to report heavy drinking and 36 percent more likely to report heavy smoking.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">bisexual<\/a> <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">men<\/a> were 3 times more likely to report heavy drinking and 2 times more likely to report heavy smoking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So what&rsquo;s the takeaway from all this?<\/p>\n<p>According to Mitchell Katz, MD, deputy editor of <i>JAMA Internal Medicine<\/i>, where the study was published, <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">bisexuals<\/a> need better&nbsp;support.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In caring for people who have experienced bias and discrimination, support is a very potent medicine,&rdquo; he says.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;However,&rdquo; he adds, &ldquo;there is reason to anticipate that with the growing acceptance of sexual minority populations, as evidenced by the rapid increase in the establishment of same-<a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">sex<\/a> marriage in the Unites States and other countries, these disparities will decrease.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/americans-enjoying-bisexual-sex-ever-20160601\" target=\"_blank\">&ldquo;Straight&rdquo; Guys Are Having More Bisexual Sex Than Ever Before, Study Finds<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~ff\/queerty2?a=SrXgwZwP35o:al79hzpyC2c:yIl2AUoC8zA\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~ff\/queerty2?d=yIl2AUoC8zA\" border=\"0\"><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~ff\/queerty2?a=SrXgwZwP35o:al79hzpyC2c:dnMXMwOfBR0\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~ff\/queerty2?d=dnMXMwOfBR0\" border=\"0\"><\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/queerty2\/~3\/SrXgwZwP35o\/bisexuals-self-destructive-study-may-answer-20160628\" class=\"autohyperlink\">feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/queerty2\/~3\/SrXgwZwP35o\/bisexuals-self-destructive-study-may-answer-20160628<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why Are Bisexuals So Self-Destructive?
