{"id":38998,"date":"2016-06-09T20:20:51","date_gmt":"2016-06-10T00:20:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/4th-circuit-denies-request-for-stay-of-transgender-bathroom-ruling-video\/"},"modified":"2016-06-09T20:20:51","modified_gmt":"2016-06-10T00:20:51","slug":"4th-circuit-denies-request-for-stay-of-transgender-bathroom-ruling-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/4th-circuit-denies-request-for-stay-of-transgender-bathroom-ruling-video\/","title":{"rendered":"4th Circuit Denies Request for Stay of Transgender Bathroom Ruling \u2013 VIDEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>4th Circuit Denies Request for Stay of Transgender Bathroom Ruling \u2013 VIDEO<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.towleroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/grimm.png?resize=600%2C330\" alt=\"grimm\" srcset=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.towleroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/grimm.png?w=600 600w, http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.towleroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/grimm.png?resize=300%2C165 300w, http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.towleroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/grimm.png?resize=150%2C84 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied a request from a Virginia school board to stay<a href=\"http:\/\/www.towleroad.com\/2016\/04\/gavin-grimm\/\"> its decision<\/a> ruling that transgender students must be allowed to use bathrooms in accordance with their gender identity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.towleroad.com\/2016\/06\/virginia-transgender-bathroom\/\">Earlier in the week,<\/a> the 4th Circuit granted a customary but temporary stay of its ruling while it considered the request for a stay.<\/p>\n<p>The school board now says it will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wavy.com\/2016\/06\/09\/federal-appeals-court-will-not-reconsider-decision-on-gloucester-transgender-bathroom-case\/\">WAVY reports:&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The full appeals court last week&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/wavy.com\/2016\/05\/31\/federal-appeals-court-will-not-rehear-gloucester-transgender-bathroom-case\/\">refused to reconsider the&nbsp;2-1 panel decision<\/a>&nbsp;in favor of 16-year-old Grimm.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the school board says they planned on filing&nbsp;a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court asking for a review of&nbsp;the&nbsp;federal appeals court decision.
