1) <\/strong>The Canadian romantic comedy Portrait of a Serial Monogamist<\/em><\/a> opens in limited release in Los Angeles today and will expand to DVD and video<\/a> on demand February 9. The film follows Elsie, a 40-something television producer who has left  a string of ex-girlfriends<\/a> in her wake. After breaking up with her long term partner, Elsie starts to wonder if she hasn’t just made a huge mistake. Check out the trailer below, the DVD is available for pre-order now<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"\"2) <\/strong>Focus Features has partnered with Film Independent to announce the launch of a new $10,000 grant<\/a> for transgender filmmakers. The Lili Elbe Fellowship, named for the real-life woman<\/a> The Danish Girl<\/em> is based on, will be awarded to a trans<\/a> filmmaker during Film Independent’s 2016-17 Project Involve program. The recipient will receive the $10,000 grant and be mentored by top industry talent including out producer Christine Vachon (Boys Don’t Cry<\/em>, Carol<\/em>), out writer\/director Justin Simien (Dear White People<\/em>) and more.<\/p>\n

\"\"3) <\/strong>Clea DuVall’s directorial debut, The Intervention<\/em>, has been sold to Paramount<\/a> for $2.5 million following its premiere at Sundance. The film follows four couples<\/a> on a vacation\/marriage intervention with Natasha Lyonne starring as DuVall’s girlfriend<\/a> 17 years after they played a couple<\/a> in the classic But I’m A Cheerleader.<\/em><\/p>\n

4)<\/strong> Vogue, Detroit<\/em>, a new documentary from Mollie Mills, takes a look at the unexplored LGBT youth culture in Detroit Michigan and the power of the ball scene in finding a sense of community and acceptance. The short documentary, released by Dazed <\/em>magazine, is available in full on YouTube<\/a>, and shows a side of Detroit culture not captured on film before.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

5) <\/strong>Ellen Page’s new documentary TV show, Gaycation<\/em> dropped its first trailer<\/a> on Tuesday. The series follows Page and her best friend Ian Daniel as they travel to different places around the world and learn about LGBT culture around the globe including attending the first ever Pride parade in Jamaica. Gaycation<\/em> will premiere on Viceland, Vice’s new TV network, on March 2.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"\"6)<\/strong> Ugly Betty<\/em>’s Mark Indelicato has just been cast in Freeform’s new 1980s-set horror series<\/a>, Dead of Summer. <\/em>Indelicato will play Blair Raymer, one of the new counselors of Camp Clearwater, who is described as being “openly gay<\/a>, artsy, […] and ready to get the party started.” In other television news, the new cast of the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice<\/em> has been announced,<\/a> including Queer Eye for the Straight Guy<\/em> star Carson Kressley and Boy George.<\/p>\n

7)<\/strong> Out singer Sia’s new album This Is Acting<\/em> is out today. Her follow up to the wildly successful 1000 Forms of Fear <\/em>features the single “Alive<\/a>” as well as tracks she originally intended for pop artists including Rihanna and Adele. This Is Acting is available for digital order now<\/a><\/em>, while the Target physical copy includes two bonus tracks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

8)<\/strong> The pop-punk band The Summer Set released the music video<\/a> for their single “Figure Me Out<\/a>” this week off of their upcoming album Stories for Monday<\/em>. They also announced a national tour<\/a> to kick off in April, tickets go on sale today at 10am. Drummer Jess Bowen previously spoke with The Ally Coalition about her journey as an LGBT artist.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

9)<\/strong> British pop star Jess Glynne has released the video<\/a> for her single “Ain’t Got Far To Go<\/a>” off of her chart-topping debut album I Cry When I Laugh<\/em>. Glynne, who has previously spoken about how her debut album was largely inspired by the girl<\/a> who broke her heart, picked up three nominations at the Brit Awards coming up next month.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"\"10) <\/strong>Out comedian and actress Lily Tomlin is being honored with a lifetime achievement award<\/a> from ICG publicists. With a multi-decade career, Tomlin is still very active in the industry, starring in both Grandma<\/em> and Grace and Frankie <\/em>(both nominated for GLAAD Media Awards<\/a>) last year. She is set to receive the award on February 26.<\/p>\n

\"\"11) <\/strong>Transgender teen icon Jazz Jennings has written a memoir<\/a>, entitled Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen<\/em>, which will hit store shelves this summer. <\/em>This memoir adds to Jenning’s growing list of accomplishments for someone who is only 15, including starring in the TLC docuseries I Am Jazz<\/em>. Her memoir will be released on June 7 and presale is available now.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
