Trump is a blatant racist and is against equality for women<\/a>. Why would you endorse this?”<\/p>\n Another user, asked<\/a>, “@Sia<\/a> So I guess you’re okay with Trump saying those things about Mexicans. Maybe not so okay had he said them about LGBT people?”<\/p>\n Others had hoped Sia would pull out<\/a>: “@Sia<\/a> not funny, trumps’s racist & anti gay<\/a> views is a serious threat to our country- was hoping u pull out of @nbcsnl<\/a> in protest #DumpTrump<\/a>”<\/p>\n A petition<\/a> to drop Trump as host gathered more than half a million signatures, and Congressman Luis Gutierrez has been battling the network<\/a> to stop him. But not all agree with the tactics.<\/p>\n Hispanic activist, actress and prominent Clinton supporter Eva Longoria told The Wrap last week<\/a>:<\/p>\n “This is part of freedom of speech, freedom of press. He has his right — not only that, [executive producer] Lorne Michaels has a right to book whoever he wants…. We as a Hispanic community have a choice to not watch it. That’s our choice,” she continued. “That’s what we can do. That’s what you’re supposed to do. Boycott that night, and then let that show feel that ‘oh, OK we did make a bad decision.’ You cannot limit that choice to producers or a network. That’s their choice to do that.
